Kimberly Kujawa PT/ CHT
Kim began her career in Hand Rehabilitation soon after earning her B.S. in Physical Therapy in 1982 at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Texas. She discovered and relished the fact that Hand Therapy was exceptionally challenging. Plus, she thoroughly enjoyed learning the unique skill of custom making all varieties of splints for her patients.
Kim’s first experience as a Hand Therapist was in Houston, TX with the prestigious Fondren Orthopedic group. However, her most rewarding experience was the many years she spent working at The Hand Center of San Antonio with Dr. David Green - a world famous Hand Surgeon.
Kim earned her certification as a CHT (Certified Hand Therapist) in 2013. Becoming a CHT assures patients that their hand therapist is fully capable of handling whatever diagnosis and/or treatment is required - including splinting which is an integral part of the healing process for most hand fractures and all tendon injuries.
In addition to treating hand injuries, Kim is proficient at rehabilitation of wrist, elbow and shoulder problems - either postoperatively or as a means to prevent surgery. Additional training in Myofascial Release allows Kim to ‘realign’ muscle fibers that have become tight and painful over years of overuse and/or neglect. She is also certified in Dry Needling for those patients that would benefit from the use of Acupuncture needles to address severe muscle spasms.
